 Starlink is NOT for everyone. Some customers can't afford the up front cost, some customers have too many trees, and some customers don't appreciate the poor communication with Starlink Customer Service. Starlink can sometimes take days to respond to messages and does not have a direct phone number for customers to call. The service is great for rural areas but the message boards are full of customer complaints about being without service for days waiting on Starlink to respond to their support tickets. Often, customers have to send messages repeatedly to get a response. This can be frustrating for customers in rural areas who depend on the internet for communication with the outside world.

Starlink is very fast and very resilient but requires 100 degree obstruction free viewing area in order to have no drops in connectivity. Starlink is night and day different from traditional satellite companies and looks in the exact opposite direction for the line of sight. While tradtional satellite dishes can be aimed and pointed, Starlink points itself. Tradtional satellite dishes can only see what they are aimed at, while Starlink can see everything within 100 degrees of its orientation, often resulting in service impacting obstructions.
